Benjamine Soto

Hello everyone, my name is Benjamine Soto. I am originally from the Philippines and am the oldest of three. I am a Hamline Alumni and currently a 3rd year dental student at the University of Minnesota.

As a student, I constantly focused on academics and my mental health suffered. Bakas Handmade started as a cry for better school-life balance within a student budget. However, using pre-loved materials not only re-ignited my passion for sewing, it also revealed the beauty and the impactful potential of sustainable expression.
